Alone of Freedom is the first in a series of three paintings. I stretched and prepared the canvas for these paintings, the canvasses were not store bought, which gave me the flexibility to explore. I approached the acrylic paint more like a watercolor and chose to leave parts of the canvas raw.
There is a strength and sadness in this painting. It reminds me that growth is not the easiest choice. Luckily, a friend owns this painting, when I visit her I am able to view it in person.
